Review Me: Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Filed Under (old posts) by Neel on 21-06-2007

It was Wednesday, June 20, 2007. Fairly boring Wednesday and I opted not to spend the whole rest day from work just by sitting in front of the PC just to bloghop or browse the web. I had to get out and fast. Good thing, I sent an invite to Tiss for an afternoon at the Mall. Eat and Shop was in in mind and seeing a Movie was really out of the list. After 2 hours of moving from one store to another, we've decided why not try to watch a movie. And the first on the list was : Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Here comes…

The Marvel universe is an awfully complicated universe. Heroes and villains are constantly appearing, disappearing, having arrived from another planet and or universe, or even another timeline. Wah! They die and are often resurrected, sometimes better than ever, and sometimes just the plain old self. The resulting chronology for some of Marvel's stories became so convoluted that they created a second, alternate timeline called "Ultimate Marvel", which effectively rebooted their creations (though without abolishing the old ones). In Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,

Fernando! We’ll Miss you!

Another Good Friend is leaving. But this isn't goodbye. We won't consider this, I won't allow this as goodbye! Goodbye is such a painful word for me. I don't even consider this as existent. Wah! I've had enough of this. Now, on the lighter side - at least he'll be with his long time GF, Roxanne in Bangkok. I'd definitely consider Fernando or should I say Pelan or Plan as one of the greatest Friend we've had. Irreplaceable. Wah!

Anyway, his last few days with us were not so ordinary. Like people asking him to change mind and stay for good. Asking him if he'd stay a little longer - those kind of stuff. Stuffs that are common when someone is about to leave. Wah! Makes me cry. Wah! Photos with Pelan.

Photos from start to finish… Pelan, You have been such a Good Friend. Thanks for keeping up with my rantings! hehehe! Thanks for the Timezone Card you've given me today at Harbour City Dimsum. Thanks for the good times. Pelan, please be safe! I'm hoping the Best of Everything!

A week on photos.

The week was not so ordinary. Let me start with the photos taken at Fisherman's Net after a dinner without Beer - simply amazing.

Monday was a well-deserved Rest Day. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. Tuesday too. Wednesday came and then Thursday.

Thursday at McDonald's Ayala Center.

Viral Tags!?!?

Filed Under (old posts) by Neel on 15-06-2007

I’ve been checking my stats regularly on my blog and it seems that I have been getting quite a good traffic lately. Though, I really don’t care about the number of people who accidentally stumble on my blog. Besides in the first place, I don’t have a Google Adsense here so I don’t really generate income (though I have an account!). Wordpress does not support them. Too bad. Anyway, going back on the stats, before, I don’t care about who tags me but now curiosity is killing me… Viral Tags whatever. Wah! Well, Why don’t I give this a try! Thanks Bata.

(bata, if you’re reading this… I’m too stubborn to make my own matrix so I just copied your matrix and pasted it here… hehehe! peace!)

Hope this works!

===== Copy and Paste below this line =====

Instructions:

1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “ViralTags” below courtesy of Founders Cafe (to support Jimmy’s quest of launching his own Internet Startup with a shoestring budget, please consider subscribing to his Full RSS Feed to see his triumps and struggles in real time).

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice with your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Viral Tags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.

Important: Once I get a ping back from you (I promise to do the best I can), I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “ViralTags” from the matrix above. As more and more bloggers copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have with your anchor text. If everybody who copy and paste from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. So, the sooner you participate, the more links with anchor text you will receive.

Wondering

My Mom and I got a text message conversation that really disturbed me.
The exchange was :

Mom : “ Jing, how are you? ”
Me : “ I’m good, still breathing. Tehee! I’m online chatting with friends. ”
Mom : “ Good. Don’t you have something to tell me? ”
Me : “ Whoa! Like what!? ”
Mom : “ About your friend- xxxxxx. <—– censored.
Me : “ So? What about xxxxxx? Is there something wrong? wah! ”
Mom : “ Not really, it’s just that you kept it from me! ”
Me : “ Huh? Kept what? Wah! I have no idea what you’re blabbing about! ”
Mom :xxxxxx? got a boyfriend and she’s pregnant. ”
Me : “ What? Who told you that!?! I don’t even know that she’s pregnant. Like since when? ”
Mom : “ Her mom. Ows? You were covering them up. ”
Me : “ Wah! why would I cover them up? I don’t even know that she got a boyfriend! I don’t know that. Seriously. Believe me. ”
Mom : “ I though you were covering them up? ”
Me : “ Wah! Why would I do that in the first place!? ”
Mom : “ Ows? ”
Me : <Blank> <————————– I sent a blank message.

There it was. I have been oblivious. Loser me. Dumb me.
I should have known. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. They kept it from me. Wah!
I’m thinking they “Value my opinion too much” (thanks for the Quote Xtina ;) ) that they kept it from me. Wah! Get a Life.

WHAT KIND OF EMPLOYEE ARE YOU?

Filed Under (old posts) by Neel on 08-06-2007

Aries Employee Profile (march 21 - april 19)

Aries employees make excellent troubleshooters. They’ll usually want to be out in the field at a variety of different work sites fixing things. They certainly won’t be happy for very long behind a desk in a 9 to 5 schedule. The bored Aries employee who has been forced into a square hole will typically be restless, angry, and careless with details. No amount of money would compensate for being stuck in a routine job. Money in fact isn’t why they are working at all. They do want to be paid fairly and need a status position to satisfy their competitive tendencies–but even more importantly, they’ll want challenging new projects They typically like to have a sense of responsibility and need to feel needed. In return, they’ll give their all and provide detailed, consistent work. They will literally work themselves to exhaustion to prove themselves. If you want to keep your Aries co-worker productive and happy, you’ll want to give them the opportunity to work independently or let them help and lead less experienced workers.

Taurus Employee Profile (april 20 - may 20)

Taureans make some of the best employees. They are loyal, hardworking, and no-nonsense. They work methodically and follow projects through until they are complete. Some may appear to work a little too slowly-usually because they are so careful-but they will always finish what they start. They thrive on structure, schedules, and routine. You’ll find them doing the same exact thing at the same time every day. Taureans, however, are not exactly the malleable workers that they often appear to be. If they have to work in a chaotic environment, they won’t be happy and will be prone to stubbornness. They might react similarly if they have to work around ignorant people or at a job where there is no obvious potential for advancement. Taureans will be very unhappy if there isn’t a ladder for them to climb. Even in the worst situations, they will find a way to advance slowly, winning over the most difficult people who may stand in their way of progress. Taurus employees will only take so much patiently and happily before they feel they are being taken advantage of. They will gladly accept orders and do whatever dirty work needs to get done, but they expect rewards. They want material gain, salary increases, and the potential for more power. To make your Taurus employees happy, be sure to give them projects through which they will see tangibleresults-hopefully something that will allow them to express their unique creativity in addition to their practical side. They don’t want to feel mired in details for long periods of time. Make sure to schedule regular performance and salary reviews. This show of respect should keep them loyal to the company.

Review Me : N95 vs iPhone.

Filed Under (old posts) by Neel on 05-06-2007

Let me start by asking which is the better phone? The iPhone or N95?

As for N95, the camera on this phone is totally unbelievable. You could literally fill up all photo hosting sites with its high resolution photos. It has an amazing 5 megapixel camera in it. Quality wise - breathtaking. GPS embedded, though we Filipinos doesn’t care much on it - or am I left out? Wah! It has also 3G Capability and bands you can use when you’re traveling the world.
